With the weather turning and seven canoes, plus a canoe mold on hand, it was time for a bigger shop. Fortunately, through a friend of a friend, I heard about some shared shop space available in Cowichan Bay and went to take a look. In comparison to my current cramped quarters the place seemed huge. Now with seven canoes inside it seems comfortably cluttered. Being able to use the table saw and the planer on the other side of the shop is a big, space saving, bonus and I love being able to open the big front doors when the weather is nice. The new canoe shop will allow me to work on three canoes at the same time and also allow me to store all of my canoes, as well as those of my clients, inside. My mystery mutt, River, overseas operations from the comfort of his shop bed.
